The International Film Festival of India is set to be held in Goa from 20th to 28th November, 2024. Its target is to give aspirational filmmakers, movie goers and business tycoons access to topnotch films from all over the world. The festival is being organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India, Government of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In collaboration with the State Government of Goa and Indian film industry.

The festival is divided in a variety of]f categories like the International Competition for feature films, non competition for feature films around the world including fiction and documentaries, curated packages and special screenings, masterclasses, workshops, Indian panorama. It also hosts a film Bazaar , which is South Asia’s largest and showcases amazing contents to potential buyers from all over the world. The famous Satyajit Ray Award for Lifetime Achievement in World Cinema will be given too.

There is a long lists of awards that would be given in the event, starting from the best director to best film Jury award. One of the most significant parts of the event is that it will be directed by the famous Indian film director Shekhar Kapur. The director is glad to take up such a prestigious role for the event. Without film, he wouldn’t even exist and that the audience made their work appreciable.

The theme of the festival is “Young filmmakers: The Future is Now”. A new Award for the best Indian debut director would also be honored. Evergreen legends like Raj Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi will be celebrated. The Country of Focus will be Australia and the Treaty Country would be the UK. A total of 47 movies directed by women would be screened. Debut movies of almost 66 filmmakers would be screened. A lot more will happen in the International Film Festival of India. In all, there would be many new talents who would be honored for their hard work and patience.
